One of AfricaSounds.com's
favorite artists, the Haitian diva Emeline Michel, recently performed to a
packed bandshell at Prospect Park for the first annual Haitian music festival.
The event featured five of Haiti's leading music acts and filled the park with
an exceptional afternoon of music. The packed festival was noteworthy in that
it showcased in one event the talent of five Haitian bands, many of them New York
based, and was living testament to the strength, popularity and diversity of
Haitian music. Besides for Emeline Michel, the festival also featured
terrific sets by famed groups Tabou Combo, Zin, Boukman
Eksperians and 2Sweet. We would highly recommend catching any of these
acts if they perform live near you.

Emeline Michel's
last studio release, "Cordes & Ame"
Emeline's last studio
release, "Cordes & Ame," is highly recommended for your collection
because it
features a diverse range of musical styles all showcasing Emeline's unique and
sublime vocal approach. The musicianship is top-notch and features many
leading musicians. In addition, a recent release entitled "Best Of" captures many of
Emeline's sought after early singles in on one disc. To purchase Emeline
